Our firm has been a member of the Private Companies Practices
Sections of the Division for CPA Firms sponsored by the AICPA. As members we
are reviewed once every three years to ensure that we are adhering to the high
professional standards and code of ethics required by these organizations and
demanded by our profession.
It is common practice for the peer review team to issue an unqualified report
with letters of comment. Letters of comment represent certain deficiencies in a
firm’s accounting and auditing practice that do not result in a qualified
report but do require corrective actions by the firm. We are proud to state
that our six most recent unqualified peer review reports included no such
letters of comment. We are also registered under the Public
Company Accounting Oversight Board Standards, and as such, we are subject
to their examination.
Our sources of new business are approximately sixty percent from our existing
client base and forty percent from former clients of national firms who were
dissatisfied with the level of service received. We believe service is our
hallmark and it transcends the name recognition of a "Big 4" firm.
We have purposely positioned our firm as an alternative to such firms. Those
active in the industry have referred to us as an "Investment Company Boutique"
for our concentration of services to the investment company industry. Tait,
Weller & Baker LLP is small enough to be accessible yet large enough to
maintain the resources our clients require. We have a national client base in
the investment company industry which we feel is testimony to our industry
experience and commitment to client service.
